A Short Skit...

Picture
Alright, so we gave you some examples of the first five conflict management styles.  Now you must do a short one for the class in groups of 4-5 applying emotional expression, passive aggression, or third-party help.

Suppose that one person is the leader of the group of students working together on a class research project.  Your instructor will assign the same grade to all of you based on the quality of the group's work, and that project evaluation will count for two-thirds of your final grade in the course. As often happens in such cases, one member of the group has just brought in a shoddy piece of work and you only have three days to go until the project is due. You don't know this group member well, but you do know that it will take 72 hours of round-the-clock effort to fix this part of the project.

Apply the mode of conflict assigned to you in order to successfully perform the skit.  You will have 5 minutes to decide who's playing what role and only 2 people should be doing most of the talking.

If you'd like, you can make up your own scene and apply the assigned mode of conflict but it must be approved by either the professor or the presenters within the 5 minute time period you have to practice the skit.

Hint: Refer to New Conflict Styles tab in order to know the exact behavior of your assigned mode of conflict.
